Expenditure Allocation

We employ a lean operating model—with no paid staff—so that over 90% of funds raised go directly to student support:

  • Scholarship Awards: 80% (two $5,000 awards in 2023 & 2025)
  • Mentoring & Program Delivery: 10%
  • Governance & Compliance: 10%

Scholarship Disbursements

Since inception, we have awarded scholarships to:

  • Madelyn Johnson (2023)
  • India Shackleford (2025)

Each $5,000 grant is unrestricted, allowing recipients to allocate funds toward living expenses, study materials, travel home or whatever necessary.

Reporting & Accountability

  • We submit an Annual Information Statement to the ACNC each year, in line with our obligations as a small charity.
  • Detailed financial reports are prepared in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and independently reviewed by qualified accountants.
  • Our Board of Directors—comprising health professionals, academics and finance specialists—meets quarterly to oversee budgets, audit findings and strategic financial planning.

Looking Ahead

As we grow, our goal is to increase scholarship numbers while maintaining low overheads. Our focus remains on nurturing the next generation of Indigenous doctors—strengthening mentorship ties, celebrating cultural leadership in healthcare, and ensuring each scholar has the support they need to serve their communities.
