A Few Words from the Scholarship Recipients

"In 2023 I was lucky enough to be the first recipient of the Kathryn Browne-Yung scholarship. Receiving this scholarship truly meant so much to me. Yes, for the financial relief it provided but also because of what the scholarship means. I remember getting the phone call to say that I had been successful in receiving the scholarship and the words “we think you will make a wonderful Doctor”. This was special. The phone call was 27/04/2023, I know because I wrote a note. Knowing people believe in me really was a game changer, particularly in my first year."
Madelyn Johnson

2023 Scholarship Recipient

"As Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people we have a very young population – one in three are under the age of 15 years. My goal is to become a paediatrician and provide culturally safe care for our children and young people, to help lay the foundations for lifelong health and success."
